A modern city and the trade capital of Morocco, Casablanca is a magnificent mix and contrast of modernism and tradition which shocks and astounds all visitors. El Jadida or Mazagan is an old Portuguese city located on the Atlantic ocean at 90 kilometers from Casablanca. El Jadida is considered the best shelter place along the coast for Portuguese who left by 1769. It is famous for its citadel, ramparts, bastions, tanks and its port as starting point of cruises to India and Brazil. Towards the south, the blue lagoon of Oualidia is located. It is a wild scenery characterized by several small island that can be visited only in small boats.
